Applying for a Mini-Grant
Requesting a Mini-Grant
The Teaching with Primary Sources Midwest Region is excited to learn more about opportunities that promote the use of primary sources.
We provide mini-grants to lead TPS presentations, conduct professional development activities, or investigate the impact of primary source instruction. Mini-grants are available to TPS Consortium members that are either located within or are completing work within the Midwest Region.
Before any work associated with a mini-grant takes place, all approved mini-grants will be initiated through an Agreement for Services. Please email Dr. Judith Bee or call (309) 438-5468 for additional information.
Presentation Mini-Grant
Recipients of the presentation mini-grant are eligible for up to $2,000 to extend their TPS work by presenting TPS-related methods, materials or project findings at professional development events and conferences in the United States. Presentations must be approved in advance. Applicants are encouraged to present current activities regarding primary source instruction. Applicants requesting more than one presentation grant should consider seeking additional funding sources to fully cover their expenses.
Professional Development Mini‑Grant
Recipients of the professional development mini-grant are eligible for up to $2,500 to conduct professional development workshops.
Professional development activities must be approved in advance. Applicants are encouraged to contact the TPS Midwest Region office for additional suggestions, including workshop materials that may have already been developed. Prior to receiving reimbursement, grantees will be responsible for a brief report following their professional development work.
