Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Midwest Region
Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) is the premier educational program by the Library of Congress, focused on helping educators enhance students’ critical thinking and analysis skills and content knowledge using the Library’s collections of millions of digitized primary sources. The TPS Midwest Region at Illinois State University covers 17 states situated in the center of the United States, from Minnesota to Louisiana.

Summer 2024 Workshop: Fundamentals of Primary Source Instruction
Learn to utilize digital primary sources from the Library of Congress, create activities that facilitate the Common Core Standards, and engage students in active learning. Blend of asynchronous assignments and live meetings once every other week. Complete for 25PD Hours.

America's Field Trip Scholastic Contest
Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, the America's Field Trip contest provides elementary, middle, and high school students with the opportunity to submit artwork, videos, or essays illustrating what America means to them. Monetary awards are available for students and sponsoring teachers.

Fall 2024 Archives, History and Heritage Advanced Internship Application
AHHA internships provide undergraduate juniors, seniors, graduate, and doctoral students with opportunities to work under the supervision and guidance of a senior specialist. Interns will learn the standards and techniques to properly arrange and provide descriptions for archival collection materials.
Seven remote, part-time (20 hours/week) internship projects will run from September 9 through November 15. | Internship application deadline: April 22 -
Fall 2024 TPS Internship Application
TPS internships at the Library of Congress provide current undergraduate/graduate students and recent graduates opportunities to work with and develop materials for learners ages 9+, their families, and/or K-12 teachers using the Library’s digitized primary sources.
Two internships will run from August 19 through December 16. One full-time onsite intern in Washington, DC, and one part-time remote intern | Internship application deadline: May 17

Regional Mini-Grants for TPS Consortium Members
These small grants will support partners who wish to investigate the impact of their TPS-related work, extend their TPS work by presenting about their grant activities at professional development events and conferences, or conduct follow-up TPS professional development workshops and courses.
