Introduction

Using primary sources in a historical context to prompt student inquiry builds critical thinking, analysis skills, and content knowledge in students of all grades. Many states recognize the unique value of primary sources in education and have mandated their use in their education standards. The Teachers Page is designed especially for educators with many resources to use in their classroom. The Teachers Page now provides a tool to search classroom materials by standards to help teachers effectively use primary sources in their teaching.
